Directions to Doc Rogers Hospital Ruins from the Benton MacKaye Trail

From the trail head at  Waucheesi Bald

Find the trail at the far end of Waucheesi Bald. and hike  1/4 mile down to Sixmile Gap and a signed intersection.

Once there  you bear right and hike the Benton MacKaye Trail from Sixmile Gap up over Cantrell Top and down to Tate Gap.
Once at Tate Gap you come to another signed intersection. the BMT trail here turns left and goes toward Peels Gap.

A right turn at that intersection takes you to the ruins and water supply and a spot fit for camping.   If you go on out Doc Rogers lane there is a packed earth spot that would be acceptable for setting up a tent. It is clear around it and would be a good place to find a tree to hang food.

Once we have visited it from Hwy 68 and Doc Rogers Lane I'll come back to this and add the directions to the ruins from there.

It would be good info to have for a person hiking the BMT who might need a bail out point or to meet someone for a ride or resupply.

That is done regularly by and for Appalachian Trail hikers, but I am sure the BMT is far less used and far less known. It  is a good idea to get the info out there where it may be useful to someone.
