Gabriel Falls Directions

Above and below: Gabriel Falls in profile and the lower image is from directly in front of it.  It is about 20 ft high.

Directions to Gabriel Falls at Gobey, Tennessee... a popular four wheeling area.

Here is the link to Tennessee Landforms page for Gabriel Falls with the waypoint and maps of where it is. Gabriel Falls on Tennessee Landforms
From the main road at Gobey aka Macedonia Road head upstream into the headwaters of the Emory River. On the right you will begin to see a series of gated dirt roads. Gate #1 is immediately across the ford of Sang Branch.
Pass Gate #1 over Sang Branch... on your right heading up the road.. and the first road on the LEFT past that turn here and follow it less than 0.20 miles. Turn LEFT on the next dirt road you encounter which immediately fords the stream. Cross the stream and continue on this road less than 0.20 miles again. Begin to listen and look for the falls down over the bank on your left.
You will not be able to go down to the base of the falls from the first place you can see it from the dirt road.
Back track down the road 100 feet or less and you should be able to easily walk out through the woods and arrive at the stream. Ford here and work your way back upstream with the creek on your right. You are able to carefully go down to the base here. There is another pretty cascade on the way that is low and small, but is scenic and has a beautiful pool of water.
