Maude's Crack Directions 

Driving Directions from Intersection of Hwy 154 and Divide Road in Fentress Co. TN:

Turn East/Northeast on Divide Road off Hwy 154 and drive 4.7 miles

at mile 4.5 Divide Road forks and you need to bear RIGHT to stay with it.  Blevins Cemetery Rd goes left here.     Drive another 0.20 miles and turn RIGHT on Terry Cemetery Rd.

Continue on Terry Cemetery Rd to its end in 5.8 miles.  You will pass Terry Cemetery on the right.

Pull past the cemetery and park in the gravel lot to begin your hike.

Hiking Directions: 

 Begin your hike by heading east on the trail past the horse stile.  It is at the back of the lot and you'll be heading east.   Follow the wide, obvious old road as your path.   It will wind its way out a finger ridge that will narrow to where you can see from side to side.  You will hike 1.1 mile out to Maude's Crack.  The hike is 2.4 miles ROUND TRIP.   You will see two overlooks on the left heading toward Maude's Crack.  At the second overlook you'll see a tree with a bright yellow poly rope around its trunk.  The rope goes down the crack into the narrow gloom.  This is where you go down.

It is tight quarters. Use care in descending.
