Boating Directions:
Put in at the Mitchell Creek Marina and use this waypoint as your guide.
36.493559,-85.358081
Bear right out into the main channel at the marina heading east/southeast.
Stay in the channel to the right. It is the one immediately beside the marina.
Travel 2.20 miles up into the cove where Mitchell Creek empties into the lake.
During Summer you can probably approach a little closer, but the water gets shallow
here. Especially when lake levels have been drawn down in Fall.
Hiking Directions from the lake shore:
We anchored off by tying the boat to a tree.
We got on the right shore and walked upstream toward Mitchell Creek.
We stayed on the right heading upstream. The water was shallow, but flowing.
Hike 0.25 miles to the falls which is NOT on Mitchell Creek proper, but is a spring flowing out to join it from the left side. It runs year round, but the flow does fluctuate with rainfall amounts.
You will pass an old building foundation on your way to the falls.

Hiking Directions from Mitchell Creek Lane
I have not done it this way so I am not 100% sure on the parking. I'd park at the junction of Mitchell Creek Lane and the boat dock road and walk from here. There MAY be parking on down, but I don't know. I also do not know the condition of the road further down. It appears to deteriorate and get rough via satellite view.
Once parked walk down Mitchell Creek Lane for a little over half mile. You will come out at the lake shore for Dale Hollow and be at the edge of Mitchell Creek Cove. Hike along the right shore of Mitchell Creek Cove for 0.30 miles to where you will encounter Mitchell Creek Falls flowing in from the left of the main stream.
