Tiny little knick knacks to hide inside the splashers if you are making "mystery splashers".  Bath bombs.. you just leave that step out.

Unless you are making soaps or bath bombs all the time you probably won't have most of these things lying around.
You can get some of these like baking soda, corn starch, food coloring at the grocery store. Probably the epsom salt as well. If not that is available from the pharmacy.  Citric acid may be purchased on the canning aisle of the grocery store, but it is food grade, in a small container and more expensive this way!

Essential oils can be bought at some grocery  stores in the pharmacy aisle or in a pharmacy or herbal shop.

I bought most of my ingredients at Hobby Lobby.
You will find glycerine, citric acid in large bags for cheap, and the molds on the soap and salve making aisle.

Ingredients
1 cup baking soda
1/2 cup citric acid powder
1/2 cup epsom salt
1/2 cup corn starch powder

Color drops of your choice 10-15 drops
Essential oils of your choosing 12-15 drops

2 1/2 Tablespoons glycerine
(almond oil was suggested, but I don't use nut based oils  because of our granddaughters severe allergies to these)
3/4 Tablespoon water

Whisk all dry ingredients together well.
Add drops of coloring and whisk til the powdering mixture is colored up
We used orange this past time.  We used grapefruit essential oils for an energizing citrus smell.

Mix essential oil drops, glycerine and water together well in a separate container.  Add it gradually to the dry powdery mixture and whisk gently as it will fizz.  That is the citric acid causing the fizzy reaction.

Don't over or under do it with the liquids or powders or the consistency will not be right.

Pack the bath bomb molds .. over pack them a little then press two halves together and hold a few minutes each.

IF YOU ARE MAKING MYSTERY SPLASHERS...
pack each side of the bath bomb mold about half full. Place your little trinket on one side. Finish overpacking the molds, press sides together tightly and hold as below for bath bombs.

Gently tap the bath bomb out of the mold and sit somewhere out of the way to dry for 24 hours.

Once dry.. wrap them in cellophane or plastic wrap and put somewhere dry and out of the way til ready to use.

To use drop one bath bomb or Mystery Splasher into the tub at a time.

These smell good, are fun, and are good for your skin.
Epsom salt soaks out soreness from tired muscles.
the essential oils are great aroma therapy
The glycerine and oils are moisturizing for your skin.

Mystery Splashers are on Ryan's Mystery Playdate. Our grandkids love them!

Note-- while bath bomb molds are tricky... we tried the cup cake tin method.
It seemed like it was going to be easier and quicker.  Never again.
It was easier to pack them, but much harder to remove them from the molds.

The kids added Paw Patrol sprinkles to this batch. It won't hurt and they loved it, but I won't do it again.
