Wildcat Pointe Overlook Trail Directions

Directions by Dana Koogler

It is located at 203 East Coast Tellico Parkway

Greenback, Tennessee.

Directions for Wildcat Pointe Trail and Overlook:

Heading south on Hwy 411 turn right onto East Coast Tellico Parkway just before the bridge that crosses Tellico Lake.  Drive 1/2 mile to a LEFT turn into the trailhead parking for Wildcat Pointe.   You will cross the railroad tracks on your way.   There are restrooms here, but during the covid pandemic they have been closed.   There is ample parking.  Wildcat Pointe trail has an info kiosk to the side of the parking area with a good map. There are several options for hiking here, but the one I am giving directions for is the one I've done.

Scroll to the bottom of the page for links to additional information on the East Lakeshore Trail System.

To hike the Wildcat Pointe Spur trail to the overlook go past the info kiosk and the trail trends uphill.  Follow it to a trail marker at an intersection which you'll reach in 0.20 miles.  Here the trail splits.  To go to the overlook you turn LEFT here and follow the spur out along the ridge on some gentle ups and downs to the end in 1 mile.

Total hike distance round trip is 2.4 miles easy-moderate.

Below is a google map of the area

A good view of the map.  It is 0.20 miles from the parking area to the left turn onto the spur trail shown.
Larger view of the kiosk map.  If you click the photo it will enlarge to a better, full screen view.  It shows the parking area on the far right of the frame, the spur trail, next in the center is the Morganton Branch Trailhead, and finally on the far left the Peterson Road Trailhead.
Above:  You can see the start of the trail as it goes uphill.  It doesn't stay steep at all. It gets atop the ridge if you're hiking the Wildcat Overlook spur and there it remains!
