Cades Cove Wreath

I made my daughter Crystal a new Summer wreath.
I drew inspiration from the heirloom gladiolus in Cades Cove.
Queen Anne's Lace, moss, lichens, twigs, a piece of yellow china plate, hemlock cones, and rusty items.   Turned out real pretty I think.

2020 Gardening Photos

Hanging basket I made. I experimented using two colors of portulaca pink and orange.. hot pink vinca, and one left over marigold!  The wire basket shown here was from Dollar General. I've had it several years. A coco mat liner and some twine.. voila!
 More hanging baskets.
Left basket contains purple pentas and a similar shade of ivy geranium.
Hanging baskets in the front yard
For the first time ever... the cannas I got from my step mom are healthy! No beetles!
First elderberries from a $6 plant I bought at the Delano Amish Farm Market
Above: I had to prune my elderberry bush and support it with the green poles.

Trying Cherokee Purple tomatoes for the 2nd year. They seem to be doing better.  I'm growing them organically, but that means they are getting chawed up by rabbits!
Sweet Alyssum growing under the sliding board!  I had to tear one hanging basket up and replant stuff as it was all doing poorly where I had it placed.
Another shot of the fairy garden under the slideing board!
 Fairy garden under the slide.
Fairy garden in a shady corner of my yard behind the swing set.
Bright red verbena.  It was dying til I moved it here.
 Herb garden gone crazy.

Cherry tomatoes, oregano, dill, chives, sage, rosemary, thyme.
Love these double rose begonias.  Got them from Horn of Plenty Market. Will definitely plant these again!
This years plant combo in my Super George cement planters......... red impatiens and purple coleus.  the frost zapped them, but they recovered!
Apple mint has gone crazy.  it is five or six feet tall now!
Autumn ferns in the screen porch.  These will keep and winter over.  I love the baskets on the walls we put out.  Keep the fly swatter, lighter, bee spray handy!

My plant spiral.  I was going to send the wrought iron plant spiral stand to the recyclers.  I am now glad I didn't!
